The Catholic Rosary

A rosary can be constructed with what is called 15 decades of beads. That is, fifteen sets of 10 beads each. The standard rosary, however, consists of only five decades. That is, five sets of 10 beads with one bead spaced between each set for a total of 54 beads to complete the full circle (see image above). The 10 beads in each set are the Hail Mary beads. The spacer beads between the sets are the Glory Be beads. Hanging below this circle of 54 beads are five more beads with a crucifix at the bottom. These five beads are spaced so that there is one bead above the crucifix, then a space, followed by a set of three beads, then a space, followed by another single bead. The three beads in the set are Hail Mary beads (making a total of 53 Hail Mary Beads). The single bead below the set of 3 is the Lord's Prayer bead. The single bead above the set of three is another Glory Be bead (making a total of 5 Glory Be beads).

The word rosary comes from the Latin and means a garland of roses.

Here are some interesting alphanumeric correlations I've derived from a study of the rosary:

GARLAND = 57 = ROSE = MARY = BIRTH

THE ROSE = 90

THE CIRCLE OF ROSES = 180 = THE DIAMETER OF A CIRCLE = WOMB OF THE GODDESS = NUMBER LETTER CODE

There is a total of 59 beads (counting the 5 below the circle of 54).

FIFTY NINE = 108 = GEOMETRY = THE LAMB OF GOD = DARK ENERGY

FIFTY NINE PRAYER BEADS = 222 = THE CIRCLE OF NINE ROSES

In Greek, 222 is the gematria for:

-Nazarene, a title of Jesus (Luke 4:34)

-Ibis, bird sacred to Thoth

-Earth

THE NINE ROSES = 151 = CHRIST JESUS

Note: The number 151 is intimately connected to the mystery of Rennes le Chateau via alphanumerics. For example, the village of Rennes le Chateau, of which Jesus Christ is a central element in the mystery, is located in the South of France.

RENNES LE CHATEAU = 151 = SOUTH OF FRANCE = JESUS CHRIST = CHRIST THE KING

There are many more related phrases connected to the Rennes mystery, each with the alphanumeric value of 151.

FIFTY SEVEN ROSES = 207 = SAY THREE HAIL MARYS = OUR LADY OF THE ROSE

HAIL MARY = 87

Note: The 3 prayer beads hanging below the primary circle are the Three Hail Marys.

87 x 3 = 261

THREE HAIL MARYS = 162

PRAY THE ROSARY = 189

189 = THE HOLY ROSARY

189 = THE ROSEY CROSS (a name for the synbol of the order of the Rosicrucians)

189 = THE CIRCLE OF CHURCHES (a reference to the geometry of the area surrounding the village of Rennes le Chateau)

189 = THE BEGINNING AND THE END (a reference to the Alpha and the Omega)

ROSARY = 96 = OUR LADY = GOD IS NINE

NINE PRAYERS = 144 = THREE MESSAGES (Referencing the three secret messages of Fatima)

NINE IS THE GREAT MYSTERY = 279 = NINE IS THE MIRROR OF ZERO

MOTHER = 79 = VIRGIN

THE VIRGIN MARY = 169 = THE VIRGIN BIRTH

THE QUEEN OF HEAVEN = 171 = POSITIVE LIGHT = DIVINE GEOMETRY

KING OF HEAVEN = 117 = NEGATIVE DARK = COMMUNICATE = NINE LIGHTS = NINE LEVELS = HOLY MARY = THE RED ROSE

171 + 117 = 288 = 144 x 2

 The primary circle of the rosary consists of a total of 54 beads.

SUN = 54 = VOICE = TONE = BREATH

The symbolism that could be attributed here is that the circle can be seen as the sun. In fact it is so in some ancient iconology. Some researchers (see Jesus Christ, Sun of God by David Fideler, for example) have shown evidence suggesting that the Jesus story reflects many of the iconologies and attributes of the various so called "sun gods", contemporary with his time and previous to his time.

JESUS CHRIST, SUN OF GOD = 252 = CHRIST CONSCIOUSNESS

The rosary is a prayer mechanism. Praying can, of course, be done silently. However, when it is done aloud, the VOICE is producing a TONE and the tones are, in part, produced by the BREATH. The prayers assigned to the various beads are directly related to three entities: (1)God, (2)Mary Mother of God, and (3)Jesus the Son of God.

FIFTY FOUR = 126 = MOTHER OF GOD

ONE TWO SIX = 144 (more on this number below)

JESUS CHRIST THE SON OF GOD = 279 (Note: 2x7x9 = 126 = FIFTY FOUR = MOTHER OF GOD)

279 reduces to the enigmatic number 9 (2+7+9 = 18, 1+8=9) and as noted a few paragraphs back:

279 = NINE IS THE GREAT MYSTERY = NINE IS THE MIRROR OF ZERO

The Numbers 9 and 144

 The phrase, NINE IS THE MIRROR OF ZERO (see above), refers to a discovery of Luigi di-Martino who works with the symmetry of "mirror numbers" and the mathematics of music. The idea expressed by this phrase is mathematically sound but is too complex to describe here and is somewhat outside the scope of this paper. Nevertheless, it is the number 9 which I wished to emphasize and the reader will see more references to the number 9 in terms of the rosary prayers in the section toward the end of this discussion. In other discussions on this website the reader may also have noticed one of the most significant phrases which has come from this work is NINE IS THE KEY = 144. The number 144 is a significant gematrian number with many references to biblical, mystical, geometrical, and cosmological themes. For example, 144 is the alphanumeric value of the following phrases:

JEHOVAH ETERNAL

GOD IS SELF AWARE

THE GOD OF ISRAEL

VOICE OF JEHOVAH

I AM ALPHA AND I AM OMEGA

I AM THAT I AM NOT

NOTHINGNESS

MULTIVERSE

MARK OF THE BEAST

PRINCE WILLIAM

SONS OF LIGHT

THE DIVINE CYCLE

REVERSE SIX

CIRCLE OF SOUND

CIRCLE OF STONE

CIRCLE OF TONES

THE PHI SCALE NODE

THE NINE CIRCLES

SPIN THE WHEEL

ONE TWO SIX

THE ALPHANUMBER

SQUARE OF FIVE

SQUARE OF NINE

DIVINE SQUARE

NINE IS THE KEY

THE SECRET KEY

JESUS IS NINE

LUCIFER IS NINE

NINE PRAYERS

FORTY FOUR

ONE HUNDRED FEET (Interestingly, ONE HUNDRED FORTY FOUR FEET=288=144x2)

THIRTY DEGREE (Interestingly, the Great Pyramid is located on the 30 degree parallel)

THE GREEK ALPHABET

FIVE THOUSAND

NINE THOUSAND

Note the last two phrases in the list above. As shown in my AlphaNumber Table (http://hometown.aol.com/codeufo/alphatable.html) the alphanumbers FOUR, FIVE, and NINE, share a special relationship in that the alphanumeric value of FOUR FIVE NINE is 144. You'll notice the phrase, FOUR THOUSAND, does not appear in the list above. Interestingly, however, the alphanumeric value of the phrase, FOUR THOUSAND, is 162 and the alphanumeric value of ONE SIX TWO is 144.

 The following is a paragraph from a website pertaining to Catholic prayer ritual. Notice how the number 9 begins to come into the picture:

<< If you wish to obtain a favor - Pray the "54 day Rosary Novena." Pray 3 nine day rosary novenas - 27 days of petition; Pray 3 nine day rosary novenas - 27 days of thanksgiving.>>

Here are some self-referencing alphanumeric correlations:

NOVENA = 71 = CATHOLIC

CATHOLIC NOVENA = 132 = NINE NOVENAS = SAY HAIL MARY

Regarding the number 132, the partner of the rose is the thorn. Interestingly, the alphanumerics are reversed:

ROSE = 57

THORN = 75

Combined: 57 + 75 = 132

At the top of this paper we noted that there exists a rare form of rosary consisting of 15 decades. A rosary so constructed, including the five beads below the primary circle of beads, would have a total of 169 beads.

CROWN OF THORN = 169 = THE NINE THORNS = THE FIVE THORNS = THE VIRGIN MARY = THE VIRGIN BIRTH

Combining the two types of rosaries would give us a total of 228 prayer beads (169 + 59).

If we divide the total (228) by 2 we get 114.

PRAYER BEADS = 114

THE NINE DAYS OF PRAYER = 228

Here are some further notes from the web site pertaining to Catholic prayer ritual:

Rosary Novenas

<<Any time you pray any set of prayers nine consecutive times, it is a novena (novena is Latin for nine). There are many traditional Catholic novenas, and several involve the Rosary. The most common is to say nine straight Saturdays or for nine consecutive hours in one day.>>

--------------------------------------------------------------

NINE PRAYERS = 144

[Note: NOVENAS = 90, which reduces to the single digit of 9]

--------------------------------------------------------------

The Most Powerful Novena

<<Perhaps the most powerful novena is the 54 Day Rosary Novena, which is a series of six consecutive nine day novenas. The first three novenas are offered for the intention, while the last three are offered in thanks to God in anticipation of granting the favor.>>

--------------------------------------------------------------

HOLY MARY = 117 = 9

MOTHER OF GOD = 126 = 9

HOLY MARY MOTHER OF GOD = 243 = 9

OUR LADY OF THE ROSE = 207 = 9

The 5-decade rosary (total of 59 prayer beads with the 4 extra spacers) not only forms a circle but also a pentagon. In the image at the left the rosary is shown in the shape of a pentagon.

THE PENTAGON OF ROSES = 222 = FIFTY NINE PRAYER BEADS = THE BEAST OF REVELATION

Interestingly, the pentagon is the geometric foundation for the 5-pointed star, the pentagram.

The pentagram is, strangely enough, associated with satanic ritual.

THE FIVE POINTED STAR = 216 = 9

TWO ONE SIX = 144 = 9

THE PENTAGRAM OF THORNS = 243 = HOLY MARY MOTHER OF GOD = WOMB OF THE VIRGIN MARY

Notice in the image below, the star is reversed so the central point is down instead of up. This may reflect the idea that the central point in the reversed direction represents the male phallus. Notice in the image above, the lower central portion of the star may represent the female lack of phallus with two legs spread. The position of the five beads and crucifix can be seen as representing the infusion of the Holy Spirit into the womb of the Virgin.

The so called Satanic pentagram is often combined with the image of a goat head. This is known as Baphomet or the Goat of Mendez. Baphomet is thought to have been an icon of the Knights Templar. The full image of Baphomet shows a rather human-like body with female breasts and the head of a goat. The origin of the word BAPHOMET is not clear. One of the more accepted theories is that BAPHOMET is a combination of two Greek words meaning roughly "Baptism of Wisdom". Interestingly, Sophia is the goddess of wisdom. SOPHIA=68, WISDOM=83. Therefore, SOPHIA+WISDOM= 151, the Rennes le Chateau number.
